About me

Many of us, when feeling low or anxious, talk to our family or friends. But there are times when maybe you feel just too isolated or overwhelmed, or simply unable to share thoughts or fears with those closest to you. So, that’s when counselling, hypnotherapy or simple relaxation techniques can help you cope. Talking to someone unconnected to you can sometimes provide the objectivity and perspective that you need for your concerns. It can help you make sense of why you’re feeling a particular way and can help change your feelings or reactions. Past relationships, family life, education or work commitments, bereavements, illness can all affect how you respond and cope with current and future challenges.

Counselling/psychotherapy

By working with me, previous clients have explored their past and discovered ways to work through and cope with such issues as:

  • Depression,
  • Grief and loss
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Anger management
  • Abuse
  • Relationship issues
  • Self harm

Hypnotherapy

This form of therapy has successfully been used to rid people of harmful habits like smoking, or the paralysing effects of phobias. While not an exhaustive list, hypnotherapy can help with:

  • Weight management and eating disorders
  • Phobias e.g. fear of flying, fear of dentist
  • Stopping smoking, drinking
  • Public speaking, exam or driving test nerves

For some people, a single hypnotherapy session is enough to make positive changes in their life. For others, a number of therapeutic sessions may be necessary to understand how past events have shaped their thinking and to learn how they could change their perspective.

Nature-based Psychotherapy

Rather uniquely, I also offer nature-based therapy, which means working outside. Some people can find it both liberating yet grounding. I either walk and talk with clients, or we sit, or do awareness exercises. You don’t need to be particularly fit, and outdoor sessions are mindful of clients’ needs.

What clients say:

“I learnt that the things in your head are not always as bad, like you thought they were. The time spent with Jane was the safest, most comfortable place to be to learn who I really was after 50 years.” SA, Northants

“To think what I was like when I first met you makes me realise how far I’ve come and that’s down to you”. Lou

“I’m grateful for the support you’ve given me this past six months. Before our sessions I felt so low and lost, but with the strength you provide, your clarity of approach and penetrating insight, I feel that you have helped me come a long way in a short period of time,”JB
